Hey guys, I recently bought my Seat Leon 14 plate with entertainment pack, and am a total noob when it comes to updating car software ect, I also noticed a few things that if you could help me with, I noticed that my system is old, and really laggy, I think it needs an update, because occasionally it would lag, and start pressing random things without me doing anything at all whilst driving. So my question is how do I update the system and not just the maps, but the whole thing. All help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Seat will do it as part of a service / inspection

Don't think you can do it yourself but you can ask any seat garage to check the version and update it for you. No idea what, if any cost.

My service and mot is coming up, soon do you think I should get it done by Seat? I've been told by my friends that never do service from the car manufacturer, as they charge extortion amounts for service.

They will do yes, an independent will do it all cheaper for you. Ideally find a good reputable independent that specialises in vag cars. That is unless you have extended warranty or whatever and then take it to main dealer.

They are generally more expensive but you don't need them to do your MOT and service. You can ask them to just do a software check and update

I too have a 2014 5F mk3 and was wondering if a system update was needed and done, would this wipe out all the OBD11 mods I carried out. Forcing me to redo them all?
