Hi Folks

I would really appreciate some advice as I'm no mechanic.

My Leon has been at a body repair centre to have some repair work done to the front bumper, I believe they ended up taking the entire front bumper off and gave it a resprayed even though the damage was extremely small, such as a large stone chip, the grill was also replaced as this has been cracked. (Guy in 4x4 with trailer reversed into me very slowly, his insurance company repaired the damages at no cost to me)

Anyway after a week and two days I finally got my car back, however I have noticed that when I turn the key (Half Turn) there is a single loud click which is comes from the engine bay. I also had some problems with my folding wing mirrors not folding at all and having a mind of there own.

The question is could they have damaged or moved something? I know its a odd question, its most likely bad timing and something has gone wrong. I have done some research and this seems to point towards the starter motor, but I am only getting the one click rather than multiple clicking sounds and the car starts fine.

Any advice would be appreciated.

If it was the starter clicking you would only likely hear that on a full turn of the key.
Although it does have stop/start so don't know if that makes any difference i.e the cars ability to restart it's self with the key in the half way position.
I'd check the battery terminals to make sure they are secure.
If it's not that id get someone to listen under the bonnet to try and hear what is making the noise - lots of things click and whirl etc under there when you switch on the ignition - could be they have not fixed back a relay or something and it's just laying loose against the bodywork which would amplify the noise.
Other than those simply checks you can do yourself, I'd just take it back to them if it's still doing it :)
