hey im new to the forum,wanted to share my mk1 i picked up 2 months ago, ill slowley but surely get it to what it should be ! thanks ! DjGaz , here is a small list of what im lead to believe the car has, im not a mechanic of any sort but what i am is, im willing to learn.

Car looks nice btw, but doesn't look like its 40mm lower than normal....

Thanks mate i also thought it didnt lookany lower but looked lower with the 18" audi alloys but when i bought the new wheels it had a bigger gap at arch i have to get spacers i think for alloys 5 or 10 mm?

What size are the tires on that 17'? I got on mines 215/50R17. Yours looking a lot smaller.

For the back you can use 10mm or 15mm spacers.
