Hi All,

First time using this forum for information. Hopefully posting it right.
Recently thought about getting an engine under tray for my Seat Leon Cupra 290 (Year 2020) Mk3, with it coming up to winter conditions again. It didn't have one when I purchased the car last year.

I believe the part number for the Under Tray is SKU reference: 5Q0825236N? Let me know if incorrect.
Are the following codes correct for the fasteners used to fit the under tray?
  • WHT000729A - Self locking hex head bolt (not sure how many are used)?
  • N90335004 - Starlock washer (again not sure how many are used)?
Or is there any specific code for an assembling kit to go with the tray?

Final question: Is it worth buying the parts and getting a local garage to fit or get SEAT to complete the whole job (get the parts from stock and fit)?

With thanks to @Craig.

- Undertray: 5Q0 825 236 Q
- Will need 3x WHT 000 729 A (to secure the undertray at the rear just by the sub frame)
- The existing undertray has the other bolts/screws required.

Undertray has 4x/3x 2x torx on each side and 1x screw/bolt at the front in the middle

[edit]
I bought the undertray aftermarket. The 3x bolts I bought from the dealer.

Thanks for the info!

Where did you manage to get the aftermarket under tray from? Everywhere I look it's out of stock 🙄

Just from memory, I think that there are either 3 Torx headed fixings per side, or 3 on one side and 2 on the other - I'm saying this because I'm sure that the first time that I changed the oil in my older daughter's 2019 Leon Cupra 290 - ie after its 3 year warranty and service package had ended, I found that there was a single side Torx headed fastener missing - which I provided from "stock".

Edit:- oil change is due, so I'll know very soon if I've got this wrong, and so I'll report back to this thread either way.

There's actually 4x on one side and 3x on the other, plus the 1x in the centre = 8 screws
N90974701 x8 Torx screws
WHT000729A x3 Torx bolts M8X20

Yup, I knew that there was "1" different side to side but just gambled on the numbers that I posted - really just assuming(stupid I know) that a previous poster had just left out a single screw on one side - just like the SEAT workshop did, but, at least on some 2019 Leon Cupra, the fixing in the middle at the front is a nut and not a screw, strange but maybe having it this way makes refitting a bit easier as you can get it slid into the front location and the captive stud keeps it there while you get the rear raised and secured with the S/L bolts.

With regard to the large rear securing bolts, from memory, they are coated with Blue Loctite, which is okay, but normally all fixings that have been pre-coated with Blue Loctite require to be renewed on re-assembly, obviously cleaning them up and applying new Blue Loctite also works, but to me, it seems a bit strange that a maintenance cover fixings ends up with "one use only" anti vibration locking element - which is exactly what locking compounds are.

Corrected my previous post, havent been under the car in a little while haha  (y)

The 3x large bolts sit very snug on my ST, I did not need to apply new loctite after refitting them.
Yes same here - have never re-applied Loctite for the 3x undertray bolts. A couple of uggaduggas from my impact driver and they hold fine. :p
