Recently purchased this seat Leon and it’s alwAys shaken a little I assumed this was because it’s a diesel and it’s done 128k so I expected a little shake but recently it has worsened and gotten louder.

recently had to replace the gearbox, mechanic told me the clutch and fly wheel was also weak but have not changed those yet. Also replaced the spark plugs as well.

Any help is appreciated thank you

Also forgot to mention it’s had a stage 1 remap and dpf delete and I can feel vibration in the cabin

It's a diesel but they've replaced the sparkplugs  ? Do you mean the glowplugs? Have you checked the engine mounts? Could a failing DMF cause that level of vibration I wonder?

Hahaha yeah my bad I meant glow plugs ?‍♂️ I haven’t checked the engine mounts as I assumed if it was those then the engine would always shake, this has just happened a day or two ago and it only seems to happen when the cars running for a couple of hours or more ...

That rings a bell! My last diesel had the 1.5 Renault diesel, the K9K engine. It always did a big shudder when you turned the engine off because apparently they don't have a device that most modern diesels do that kills the engine instantly when you turn them off. If anyone on here knows what I'm talking about, we might be into something here ?.

The shudder happens because diesel engines are high compression and are stopped by cutting the fuel. The engine spin slows down but there'll be a final compression stroke in one of the cylinders as the engine comes to a stop where the compression overcomes the inertia of the crank and other pistons and effectively tries to kick the rotation back in the 'wrong' direction.
