@Andy they look awesome and very white compared to the sidelights. How's the output on the road?

on the road, its very, very good, lights up the road ahead with a far whiter light than standard, visibility is improved over the standard bulbs.

Ive also fitted main beam bulbs now of the same type.

That's very nice. The Osram Nightbreaker Plus bulbs are very strong and have a much better output than the regular halogens but they're a bit yellowish compared to the ones you installed. I sure wish yours were available where I live, I would have definitely bought them.

I've seen the reviews on the ultra brilliance bulbs quite a few say the lifespan is quite poor unless I'm mis reading and all round it the wrong end of the stick lol

Ive had the dipped bulbs in for 14 months so far with no issues and you know what the auto headlights are like in the leon, they come on as soon as it goes cloudy, even in summer

Ive used Ultra power H7 bulbs and they lasted 4years before 1 failed They are on a Mk1 Lc though

The dipped beam bulbs are a H7 - 477ULB
The main beam bulbs are a H1 - 448ULB

Dipped beam cat code 272737

The ones you linked to are the right dipped beams mate

Yeah I put my plate in for a 57 and same light came up so I'm guessing not much difference...

Watch our thumbnail on the clips holding the cover on. Nearly ripped mine off.

Those ones in the halfords link were the ones i was gonna get instore, £30 but bogof

Soooo

Ultra brilliance
Or
Osram nightbreakers??

:)

Swapped my sidelights and dipped beam.
How do you get the full beam bulbs out ?

Take the rubber cap off the rear of the headlight,

disconnect the bulb electrical connector

Release the bulb retaining spring/clip by pushing it in, move it slightly to the right and the spring clip releases so you can get the bulb out

refitting is the opposite of the above

it is a bit fiddly if you have got big hands and the bulbs only go in one way to seat correctly
