Hi guys,

I own a seat leon 1.9 tdi, PD 150bhp. Stage 1. 2004 plate.

When I accelerate past 1600rpm on standstill or while moving, the car makes this horrible shattering noise which is coming from somewhere under that bonnet. I think its coming from somewhere behind the passenger wheel (which i believe is the gearbox?) I will attach a video so you can have a quick listen. I know some people can just listen to the sound and can advise with their expertise. My knowledge on cars isn't great so please bare that in mind when replying. Thank you in advance. Please help !ll

Do you know if the camshaft and followers have been changed recently?

Bit hard to tell without standing in front of it but my PD150 made similar noises which turned out to be camshaft wear.

Have you tried reving it with your foot on the clutch?
If the noise goes that should imply gearbox/flywheel.
If it stays, engine.

does sound like cam that, but when was the last oil change or oil used? as Pd when cold and not warmed you can hear that when switching off engine but thats old school Diesel Engines

It has had new PD engine oil & filter every 8000 miles or so?
