Hello everyone

I've bought a new head unit for my 2013 Seat Leon and am trying to remove the oem radio in order to replace it. The keys that came with the new unit slid right into the 4 holes and clicked into place. But now I can't remove the unit or the keys. I've tried pulling them to the outer sides but nothing moves.

Any help?

Here's a picture of the current situation:

Thanks in advance!

I think you have to pull them side ways for it to release.

To me it looks as though the keys are too far in, unless they are shorter than I have seen before.
Try moving a key inwards towards the centre of the radio and pulling it completely out. Also are you sure that you have the keys in the correct way round?

That happened to me when I removed my glovebox unit to install the cold air mod.
As someone pointed out already, one of the keys slid too deep and slid past the lock.
And yes, you need to pull them to the sides at the same time you pull out, but you are screwed already, since you only should push the keys in a relatively small amount.

In my case, since the unit was smaller and had only 2 keys in, one of the sides unlocked and I don't really remember anymore how I got the other one out - I think by force, but again, different situation than the one you are on now :(

I could only remove the key that was stuck with the unit out and even then needed extra tools and a big amount of effort.

Good luck!

Just to close, an idea for you: try to remove some trim around the unit, for instance AC controlled and vents and reach from up or down to unlock the tabs via a different method, but have in mind that the jammed keys have now also locked the tabs in a locked position :(

I tried that but no luck. They don't seem to move... :/
If you haven't managed to sort it yet then I think the best thing to do is remove the complete instruments/facia/vents unit with the radio and then you can get to the back of the radio. It's not too difficult to do.
