My Dad bought a brand new Leon in Spain (LHD) for his run about out there, its now over two years old (spanish warranty 2 years not 3 like here) so not covered by Seat, he has a fault with the central locking, when you press the button on the fob its locking all doors except the driver side (left side), also the warning light on the dash shows up even when the door is closed, the car has only done 6000kms in two years:rolleyes: does anyone know what this could be?, did the UK version suffer this fault at all?

Thanks for any suggestions....

Re our conversation earlier, this may help other readers.
The MK1 Leons had a 'central convenience unit' which looked after locking, windows etc. The MK2's are an awful lot more complicated but in our experience almost every locking/windows/courtesy function has been down to the electric window motor which controls all the door electrics.
Not a massive job in itself, but hard to diagnose plus its a dealer reprogram to set it up after fitting.

Could it be as simple as a faulty doorsensor? Does the interior light stay on too? Because doors aint locking if the car thinks they're open.
So if the warning light says the doors open because of the broken doorsensor, the car won't lock it since it's "open".

Had it the other way around on my old Fiesta. Interior lights wouldn't come on because the sensor told the car it was closed.
In that car it was a very cheaply build contact sensor which got rust on it :S

afaik the courtesy function is also controlled by the module built into the electric window motor

Doesn't the leon have one of those cheap push-in things? All other cars I know have one of those, once the door is open you can just push m in with your finger or so and the car "thinks" the doors closed.
That would be the first thing I would check.
