just wanted to say hi!
got my tdi130 last saturday and got to say its an impressive car!:-o
very pleased with it, especially the performance!
the torque is worthy of a grin every time:D , but i can see i'll want more power in the future.
strut braces are on order, as i have found these to be a worthwhile upgrade on previous cars.

bushes are soon to follow, then i was thinking of installing a rear arb.
has anybody bothered with a rear arb, good / bad, worth the ££££?

from my searches so far i will be ordering the cupra intake hose & adaptor and a green panel filter in the near future.

also from searches it is unclear whether there is a worthy exhaust upgrade for the tdi? will a cupra tdi exhaust fit onto a tdi130 sport?

have any of you experienced SEAT owners got any good advice for a SEAT virgin keen to get the best from his new pride and joy?

Welcome to the site, and glad you enjoy the car :)
I used to have a TDI Sport and do miss it, the Passat is nowhere near as much fun...

Hello! I'm pretty sure a Cupra exhaust will fit your car. if yours is the later sport model that has the twin pipes out the valance. If its the older sport model like mine, you will obv have to cut the valance or put on a Cupra/FR valance. rash has a Cupra exhaust for sale...try getting in touch with him. :)

hello and welcome mate, hope you enjoy your ibiza!!

i was thinking of installing a rear arb.
has anybody bothered with a rear arb, good / bad, worth the ££££?

have been thinking about getting one of these for my cupra, are quite expensive..about £200 from Jabba but are apparently (from what i have heard to be pretty good. there is a thread in here somewhere about agroup buy for something similar on the briskoda wesbsite

also from searches it is unclear whether there is a worthy exhaust upgrade for the tdi? will a cupra tdi exhaust fit onto a tdi130 sport?

the exhaust should fit on fine, the only concern being whether there is a gap in the bumper so the exhaust can fit easily in it without having to cut/reshape the bumper

you where talknig about maybe wanting more power in the future, best .. and most common thing is to get the car remapped to get more power out of it. there are a few 130 sports on here i believe who have had theres remapped so they would be better to tell you what gains they got from doing it to theirs

hope that helps to soem extent!

AFAIK the only difference in the sport130 and cupra160 zorst is the back box
and as others have said the rear vallance
I think the rest of the zorst is the same

enjoy your new toy :D

Exhaust:

If you want a bit of noise but not too much and a nice tail pipe get a "Mufflerectomy" - you dont need any silencers at all! Just to a quick searchy for it. May slightly increase performance top end due to less restrictiveness and is known to speed up spooling of the Turbo.

Welcome to the site mate and it`s nice to see that somebody does actually knows what the search button is for. As already posted the PD160 exhaust will fit a PD130 but there is little point in doing so if your fitting it to get more power. If your changing the exhaust because you want more power get a Milltek or you can get a straight through exhaust made from turbo back with no cat and back box made from whatever custom exhaust maker you want. Power can be pushed to a proved 250ishbhp if you have the money. I was aiming for 300bhp with my PD160 which is the same engine with just a different turbo, map and a FMIC before i had a little incident on the way to work back in November 2005 que the usual piss taking....:blahblah:
If your serious about tuning your PD130 there is only one place to go really.

have been thinking about getting one of these for my cupra, are quite expensive..about £200 from Jabba!

i've been finding prices for a short while and the jabba one seems the most expensive at £210. i've found an eibach arb on europerformance for £160 or a H&R for £170. any good / bad reports for these brands of arb?

the exhaust should fit on fine, the only concern being whether there is a gap in the bumper so the exhaust can fit easily in it without having to cut/reshape the bumper

i was thinking of getting a rear vallance with the exhaust cut out, (already got the part number from the parts list sticky during a previous search mission!;) ), how much are they from SEAT?

you where talknig about maybe wanting more power in the future, best .. and most common thing is to get the car remapped to get more power out of it. there are a few 130 sports on here i believe who have had theres remapped so they would be better to tell you what gains they got from doing it to theirs

remap was definately on the long term shipping list!
one of the main reasons why i decide to turn to the derv side!;)
just from the blurb from various map 'n' chip websites the gains achieved from a tdi are a very good return £ for lb.!!!!

thanks for all the welcomes and advice (so far!) by the way!

glad you said that, coz that would be the main desire, to achieve more power! so the only difference between the PD130 & the Cupra tdi exhausts are the chrome tip and the price tag?

If your changing the exhaust because you want more power get a Milltek or you can get a "straight through exhaust made from turbo back with no cat and back box "

:wtf: just a straight through pipe with no silencers or backbox!!???
wouldn't that be a tad loud?:-o not legal surely?
would that pass the emissions test for the mot?

same with the mufflerectomy (as i keep seeing it referred to:lol: ), that must rattle your fillings also?

mufflerectomy is a straight through exhaust and it is legal as you don`t need a cat or back box on a diesel. Personally i would get a Milltek since i have heard several cars with a mufflerectomy and to me they sound loud and shite like an old tractor running but it`s cheap and if you like the boy racer loud boomy exhaust sort of thing then it`s up to you.

just had a look at their website, didn't realise i could get a high flow inlet manifold, and at £45 its added to the shopping list!!!:D

and they are local to me, gloucester is only a 40 min drive door 2 door;) !!!

You don`t need an uprated inlet manifold mate. You haven`t even remapped your car yet and you still will not need it then. Wait untill your about 250bhp then it might help a tiny bit.

my car does not/er didn't sound boy racer like at all, at idle it sounded a little deeper thats it when booting it yes it did get louder but chav at all, thats why i went for a muflerecomy in the first place rather than a hallford universal box, anyway a milltek for £400 for a couple of horsepower and nice exhaust note or a £100 for a bit of pipe and a new exhaust trim, you decide mate.

thats interesting, didn't know that!
opens up the scope for a free flow system!;)

not my cup of tea mate!:banned:

i thought that a remap would be the last thing to do after all breathing mods from the cupra adaptor, panel filter, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, down pipe, through exhaust system (as i have just found out i don't need a cat;) )???
i know that each individual mod doesn't yield much gain, but collectively it surely would make a difference?

When it comes to the straight exhaust best thing to do is try and find someone local and hear it for yourself. Go for a ride down a motorway at a legalish  sort of speed you might be able to live with it  . Removing the cat will do nothing for your power until you go hybrid turbo either so don`t waste your money on that either, or bother paying hundreds for a sport cat either.
