Has any one had any grief with Seat to any resolve with regards to the yearly or 10k service.

I've had my car detailed and paid a lot of money for it to be cleaned to a prototype showroom standard.

How ever since Seat have serviced it the cars body work is ruined, it looks disgusting. I have tyre shine on my hub caps stained, a type of wax on my plastics I take it from contamination of a dirty cloth or sponge. And where the cars body work is there is contaminated water marks imbedded in the wax. I've had it quoted and it's costing £550 to restore it back to how it was. I even asked them not to wash the car and have raised a complaint to which I was offered the same valet again.

No shammy leather, sponge wash, allowed to dry on a flat surface on a day in 24c heat.

If there's no resolve, I'm probably going to go down the route of trading standards.

Has any one else had this sort of mishap happen before, it takes the piss when the detailing cost £550 and the protection should last 3 years.

1. do you actually drive this car or just keep it in garage to look at?

2. What the hell for? Can get a full correction detail for about 150-200 including ceramic coating

You wanna see the be for and after, what's the ****ing point in spending thousands on performance parts for it to look like a bag of ****, my plastics are ****ed the paint looks disgusting.

Why should a car go in and come out worse off. Pretty sure you'd be pissed if you found out Seat put 97 ron bio fuel and Tesco synthetic oil. There's no difference in my opinion.

The correction detail is coming in at cheapest 550 with 100 for ceramic.

Jesus christ get some photos up if you can! Have you spoken to SEAT CS? I'd be sending photos to them of the before and after.

That's what it usually looked like and Was took 2 days be for service, will get a after tonight or when the weathers better.

Spoken to the manager and of my branch and I'm taking it in on Thursday it was the same bloke I spoke too 16 hours after the service but I didn't want any more of the same **** being done worse. Clay bar mild detergent snow foam, no affect after a good 10 hours wasted over a weekend.

Can't even get my wraps on the car because of how bitty the build up is

I feel your pain.

I've also asked SEAT dealers not to wash cars, a request which they've ignored.

Generally speaking the service from SEAT dealers is poor. I try to visit them as little a possible but I've got to for warranty work.

"Hey Mr Big Col, we've been unable to fix the original problem with your car however we've washed it and swirled the paint to hell. We've also covered all the interior trim in some sort of waxy stuff. Have a nice day"

Did you get an email from SEAT asking for feedback about your experience about 2 weeks later? If you are not happy go to town on that.

I've got my car is booked in for a service and a few small warranty issues on Monday. Can I ask what dealer you used? As I'll definitely be requesting they don't wash it afterwards. And ill not be impressed if they do regardless!

Crewe branch, take my advice and leave a note on your dashboard if the message doesn't get passed along then there's no doubt it will get washed.

I've spoken to the manager of my branch and he remembered the complaint I raised the day after and I'm taking it in at some point this week. I've already said if it's not gonna be machine polished and have the wax removed it's useless and it's literally the case of polishing a turd ( the turd being the **** on the paint not the car )

Under LED light in a unit for detailing my paint is horrible, had to buy some peanut oil which ain't cheap to break down the wax on the plastics.

When they say they use good products I think there referring to demon shine, if your car is white or black and is regularly wax don't take the chance leave a note

Wouldn't of been the case if it was in good old Nantwich

haha was back there the other week but I tend to come via train, £14 return or £55 fuel haha.

Bought the car from Crewe but not my local dealer so taking it to IMG Warrington. When Crewe were cleaning the car after the sale they managed to put 2 lovely chips in the paint for me too! Yes think a note in the car will be a good idea

DAMN! That glass finish, sweet. I'd hate it if the dealer managed to undo your moneys worth.
With that said, when I bought my car I had to take it in for warranty work (corroded spark plug...?) it was with them for about a week and in that time they managed to kerb all four wheels.
I complained, they said to bring it back and they will refurbish them. I refused and told them I don't trust you to take care of my car. The service manager decided to change department in the middle of this and had no word from them for a while. The new service manager didn't know anything had to resend the initial emails and pictures. He got it done for me in the end, they kerbed it in August 2016 and got them refurbished in march 2017.
Pretty pissed of with it all, haven't been in for a first service/inspection yet but hope the same doesn't happen again.

I would say to email Seat UK and Seat HQ in Spain. Explain the situation and CC the dealer, that'll rattle them enough

Well it went okay to be honest, I was very lucky that there appeared to be a fair amount of new customers looking at the show room cars, so when I asked for a the branch manager I was quickly given star treatment.

As you can see from the photos the weather was terrible and meant it didn't highlight the problems.

But Seat have promised to look into it and pay for the wax to be completely removed, will believe it when I see it.

they said this has never happened before, he seemed very surprised when I told him seat owners do talk to one another then kept quite

You went for a 10k service and they "cleaned" your car? Better bringing it into the dealers I work in, if you say don't wash it there is no danger of getting a wash let alone a clean.

Just had my Leon mk 3 into Arnold Shark Newcastle for it's 2 yr service after waiting 3 weeks for a courtesy car. Outside washed, kind of, and front footwells hoovered. The glove compartment was catching, turned out they hadn't properly refixed the cover when they replaced the pollen filter (at least they actually did it, I suppose). Fairly underwhelming service. Good job it's part of a service plan, if I was paying full price, I'd be pretty peed off.

It's annoying to see what a bad wash can do to a car.

Well I'm fairly happy spoken to Seat today after going in on last Thursday.

Its in for a full day come Thursday for a two stage polish with a team of 3 total cost to Seat £425

Wax removal, back to out of the factory show room look, I've managed to blag the chance to pay for the ceramic products (£100) for peace of mind that it doesn't get serviced and killed again.

Don't accept a sub standard product but credit to Seat for putting right what you did wrong

I know the feeling. Spent a weekend fixing the paintwork from my previous RCZ, and the following week after service, the standard wash: 1 bucket + grit + aggressive chemicals. Was more annoyed about that than the fact they always left loose parts every time they tried to fix something.
Just to give an idea, the brakes were replaced, badly knocking sound and feel (they wanted to replace the steering rack, 1k, I said yes, as the extended warranty would cover. They did check again and spotted the real problem, as the warranty wouldn't give the green light without further investigation, but if I had to pay, they would replace it without hesitate). Turbo oil feeding pipes were blocked, the "engineer" replaced it and in the return to the engine, left it loose, leaking oil. The service manager had an argument with the wise man as he was standing his ground saying that it was acceptable. Fuel pump replaced, the tray underneath the engine was left loose, half of the screws missing and somehow the air intake part was left completely loose. After all the events, just decided to replace the car, as using a dealer from other town wouldn't be practical.
So far, just had one service with Seat and all went fine. Just hope it stays this way.
