Hi mate,

if your car is 3 years old + then SEAT have fixed the servicing cost see here:

http://www.seatcupra.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1301&Itemid=1

so you can get your SEAT serviced by a SEAT main dealer for the cost of a local independant.

More importantly, it gives you a main dealer stamp in your service history book, which is important for retaining its value for when you want to move it on.

I bought mine with full SEAT service history and i will keep that up.
Much better to see dealer service stamps in the book IMHO. To the average person, a main dealer service stamp is a sign its been serviced to the correct quality standard with the correct SEAT parts etc.

Local garage may provide just a good a service, but there is no guarantee that SEAT parts have been used as opposed to patten equivalents.

Take it to SEAT mate, especially if its 3 yrs old +

personally, if im buying a car it doesnt bother me where it has been services just as long as it has.

however, i am sticking with the dealer whilst mine is under warrenty just incase anything breaks they cant claim it was caused by another garage.

to be honest that is a myth , serevice history is service history
you pay over the odds for a main dealer service

when your pride and joy goes into a SEAT dealer who services your car? you have no idea and usually its the apprentice learning on your car.

the only thing you need to worry about is warranty work , but if you use a good recommended independant who specialises in vag vehicles then you should be fine , you also get to know who has actually serviced your car
i know which one i would rather have.

Also SEAT say that if you have been loyal by using a main dealer for servicing and your car s outside of warranty they will give you a discounted repair , but this is still normally more than an independant would do it for.

Id rather a good independent garage service it, Mines serviced at Awesome GTI, They use Genuine VAG Parts, Price is alot better than SEAT

As said above 9/10 the car is serviced by the apprentice at SEAT

Like already said who cares who services it as long as its done and the main bits are done like cambelt. I personally don't look for derive history when buying a car I just do the basic check, belt condition, oil condition, leaks? Brake levels, tyres
