I ordered a 300 back in January and it arrived 3 weeks ago, reading this thread I appear to be one of the lucky ones.

Is it any quicker than the previous models? for me that's not an easy question - the 280 and 290 I had were both manual but the 300 is a DSG - they all feel plenty rapid, but in different ways. The exterior of the 300 is growing on me, slowly - after Alor Blue on the 290 Mystery Blue on the 300 seems a bit understated, but the interior of the new car feels like a significant improvement, I prefer the seats, digital dash and alcantara on the doors.

It sounds like there are some supply issues out there - I gave up all hope of ever landing an Ateca Cupra some time ago - but I would encourage anybody waiting on a Leon to hang on in there (if possible), the 300 is a cracking car, even without a gearstick or handbrake :joystick:

You still had a fair wait but yes you are one of the lucky ones :)

I too will be coming from a manual, but a 280. The quicker shifting and DSG pops and bangs will be enough for me over the 280. I am plenty satisfied with it's speed.

If they are dialing down the power on the 300 to 290, they may dial down the torque from 380 back to 350nm. That could change the feeling of the car, but it's been so long since my test drive I most likely won't notice.

What do you think of the exhaust coming from the manual? Satisfied or are you looking to make changes?

I'll be keeping the exhaust standard - DSG farts on upshifts are great and I like the crackles & pops it sometimes makes when lifting off in Cupra mode - I think there may be a few tricks in there that I haven't discovered yet (have only done 200 miles so far) but I will have fun finding out

I can beat that... I test drove and ordered one back in October, and picked it up yesterday..! I changed my mind part-way through too (once I found out about the digital dash), and I changed the colour from Mystery Blue to Eclipse Orange and I’m so glad that I did

That's refreshing to hear :) from the videos I've seen the standard exhaust is decent.

There are a couple of threads on here which advise on how to get more consistent pops and bangs from the stock exhaust set up.

Unfortunately I can beat that :( here goes..
I test drove the 300 in the pic back in July last year. Ordered a manual in August for November 2017 delivery when my lease ended .

Changed my mind too because of the digital dash. Submitted a new order in October.

That got balls up and the wrong spec was delivered in Feb.

They couldn't sort the reorder until May because the price had changed and they originally wouldn't honor the original price.

They honoured the price but it was too late and only DSG was available in my spec. Had to wait for authorization of DSG at the original price.

Since found out it will now be a 290
Due some time in December.

That will take some beating :)

More importantly you've definitely made a good choice the 300 sc in that colour looks mint!

As we are aware Cupra production resumes around BW42-44.

I’ve heard a rumour that all Cupra going forward will have the Cupra R copper badges, exterior and also some copper interior. It’s part of the new Cupra brand. The logo will still be SEAT and not Cupra for now. But will be copper....

Watch this space... MY19, no flags bar a black one on the front and copper all over the place

Also the interior will be exactly like this but with a seat copper logo and not a Cupra logo. Black to replace silver parts on current interior.

That interior is from the Ateca CUPRA.

Where ever you heard this rumour take it with a pinch of salt mate.
