Now this seems a little dodgy as the previous owners of the car were, low and behold, SEAT UK. [:@]

This probably means (apologies if covered elsewhere in the thread) the car was a demo or courtesy car run by a dealer. These are owned by SEAT UK and usually bought by the dealer as second hand cars. If a customer wants to buy it it might then be sold direct to them making SEAT UK the previous owner.

Well there you go. There are very few honest and decent dealers out there. Its all about making the sale.

I will take the car to Francis Seat on Monday morning. Hopefully they will sort it.

Update -

Just come back from the Coventry Stealers and this is what they had to say......

Sorry sir but there is nothing we can do. There is a guy who is a bit of an expert on paint who comes here on Tuesdays, if you pop back then, we can get him to have a look for you and possibly do a "quick fix" on the bumper.

WTF, QUICK FIX?? Isnt that whats already been done to the fcuking bumper!............. Are these guys cowboys or what??

I think a trip to Francis Seat is on the cards...

Nice to see the piss poor service isnt unique to Premier SEAT in Stoke.

Whats going on with SEAT dealers?:wtf: :censored:

Just come back from Francis Seat. John the paint expert took one look at the bumper and said straight away that it needed a respray. He is now going to submit a request to Seat UK for this to be done.

The service is truly second to none at Francis. I know where I will be going in future. ;)

Excellent news mate glad it's being sorted for you. It's amazing what 25 miles makes isn't it

I don't know why dealers are so obstructive to warranty claims - they make money out of them!

No they dont, at least not very much. Warranty pay only just above the cost price for parts and the minimum in labour hours (at a reduced rate). If a dealer spent 2 hours investigating and fixing a problem that Warranty said would take 1/2 hour to fix (notice I didn't mention investigate) do you think Warranty will pay 2 hours? - Simple answer is no. Yet the dealer still has to pay the techie 2 hours.

^^^ same in every industry - it will just about cover the hourly rate normally

Dealers have to make money on retaining punters for service work & rebates on new car sales

Front bumper now re-sprayed under warranty by Francis Seat of Leicester.

A top job too! :)
