COULD SOME ONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT CONTROLS THIS PUMP AS I THINK THIS IS THE PROBLEM

hmm its possible that could be multiplug connector on engine bay harness, coolant temp sensor or the ecu itself.
at work we can carry out final control diagnosis to activate solenoids etc, dont know if this can be done on vag-cam if you have access to it ??

it has a new coolant temp sensor
what tells the pump to stay on for 10mins after you switch off
the pump had gone tits up when i bought the car
ive tested the old pump and its shot
its stange that the feed to the pump allways has 11volts no matter if the engine is running or not

Under engine settings, which block number do you address for this one?
It should be in vag-com also...

I have used it to cycle thru power testing for certain parts, but dont recall water pump being one of them.

how can you tell if these things are working or not? I just replaced mine as it was leaking but car want over heating or anything like that..

Is it just to keep water circulating around engine after switch off to prevent hot spots?

i think (and don't take this as gospel) the pump is controled by the air con control unit attached to the n/s chassis leg

when i was having probs with mine i checked the wiring diagrams and im sure this control unit had some effect on the pumps operation
