i have a LCR but the engine is ****ed from timing belt failure.

i cant afford it to fix the engne its going to cost 2 grand.

could i make any money from selling the car/parts?

would a garage buy it, so they could do it up and sell it on?

its a great car bar this. surely i could make some cash out of it?

If it has recaros in the front i will do you a swap for my LCR seats. Email me!
Yes you can get some money back but you would be better off getting a loan, getting it fixed then selling it to pay the loan off etc as anyone buying it will pay you peanuts

What mileage did it snap at? Was it not regularly serviced?

Like said, get it sorted.

75k it has done. it has been serviced regulary but everything except the timing belt. i was under the impression it had been changed but when i looked through the history the garage left it out from its last owner. the ***** must have been skimping coz he knew he was gonna sell it. cocksucker

if i could fix the engine how much do u think i could sell it for?
i need to pay the load 5 grand left and also need to pay 2 grand for the repairs at least so i would need to sell it for 7 at least. damn shame car was a beast only been driving it 8 months

put it on e bay and take your chances, or get a second hand lump for it, there are a lot of these engines knocking around from LCR's TT's etc.

Perhaps checking the belt had been replaced might have been a good option, why blame the previous owner for not doing so when it would have been common sense to do so on a new to you car.....

any garage that quotes 1600 without even opening the head is not worth their weight in cowdung mate. take it to a reputable side street garage.

Mate you cant sell it how it is.. Ull get nothink.. Fix the car and it will be fine. Why sell it? Just get it all fixed and maintain it properly. Dont need to get a new lump either really. Have you not got any macanic mates that can help you do it?

If you sell it for 7k pay of the loan ur left with nothink? Not worth it!!
