Service/cambelt dealer pricing woes

Got my 40k service at the dealer - £180. They quoted me £290 for belt and tensioner. Got it done at local garage for £144. Book still stamped by seat timing belt receipt from garage - £150 saved.

As far as I'm concerned a dealer stamp does not add that much to your car value beyond a certain age. I've traded cars in and they've not even asked if it has a service history. Also my experience of dealer servicing is not always good e.g. over filling oil!
