Service plan and extended warranty cost

Looking at buying a Leon FR 1.4 and ideally I would like to add the extended warranty to cover years 4 and 5 and a service plan based on 10k miles a year or so over that duration.

I would be using the current Seat 0% finance over 36 months with 50% down to finance the vehicle if that makes any odds.

What sort of prices has anyone else been offered for thee two?

Never took any extended warranties on any of the 6 SEAT's I have bought new, and never had any probs outside the 3y warranty, and they where all minor anyway.;)

Turbo on the Ibiza FR TDI at 50k 4 years old out of warranty but SEAT uk contributed but not total coverage.

Road springs on the same ibiza and a leon cupra again at 4 years or so.

Gearbox on another leon cupra at about 10k and in warranty.

400 odd quid up front l for a couple of extra years of no hassle fixes seems worth it to me. Just want to know if anyone got a discount from list price on it!

I have the service plan for 4 years on finance. It's a no brainer. Didn't do the warranty as i don't do the miles

It's based on engine size (1.2TSi +DSG) and mileage (max 10,000) and costs £11.45 for me. Remember your costs are fixed at the outset and therefore price increase insensitive!. They have already crept up by £10. PM me and I'll send you my spreadsheet of calculations or search for my posts as they are on here somewhere about 9 months ago. I reckon I will be £265 better off over the 4 years without taking price increases inflation into account. Get the 4 years as it includes an expensive 4th year service.
Of course if you aren't keeping the car for 4 years it becomes less valuable

brought my leon as it was 6 months old, and got the 3 years servicing for free (but at the time there was a deal on for 3 years for £49) which the sales agreed was a insane deal.

Just come back to look at this again so a 4 year 12k/year plan on the 1.4 FR comes in at £12.37/month which totals 593.76 compared to 169+199+169+249 = 786.00 or a saving or around 192.24.

I've not had a price for a 10k/year plan yet but if the price is different it turns up some questions... Are you actually buying 4 services or 48 months worth of servicing...

If we take a 10k/annum plan it works out fine as you get a service at month 12, 24, 36, 48

If we take a 12k/annum plan you get a service at month 10, 20, 30 and 40 then 2 months after the end of the plan you have to pay for the 5th service outright therefore you are still only getting the same 4 services so the price should be the same

If we take 12500/annum then you get a service at month 9.6, 19.2, 28.8, 38.4, 48 so surely should be more expensive.

Has anyone had a quote for 10k and 12k annual mileages and know if they are different?

Sorry only 10,000 miles as I do leass than that and so it's effectively an annual service and the mileage is irrelevant but your numbers are good for that. It's a no brainer if you plan to keep the car and don't total it.

I'm getting a new 2.0 TDI 184 FR on Monday and taking it out on the 0% finance. The dealer has told me that because I am getting new and on the finance, I get the first 3 services free.

I would check with your dealer to make sure that there isn't anything like that with the finance package you are getting.

Interesting, i am going the same finance route. Which dealer are you buying from?

Well I got some more pricing and they can't explain why the first two are a different price given they only provide 4 services each... Awaiting an answer from seatfinance direct at the moment.

10k/annum is £10.84 x 48 - 4 services
12k/annum is £12.61 x 48 - 4 services
13k/annum is £13.50 x 48 - 5 services

Because you can't have 4 services in a year if you are doing 12,000 miles as the service intervals are 10,000 miles?
