Not too happy! Engine management light came on today! Car is due a service anyway, I was just wondering where you guys take your cars?

I rang seat and a full service and mot is £545 with a cambelt change! I can knoway afford that at this time!

That's it :)

that sounds about right... cambelt alone is approx £350, mot £50... 60,000mile service is £200, you could get them done at seperate times though instead of one uge bill

The last device was done at 44,000 it's now on 52,000. Should I wait for nearer 60k to get the full service and cambelt change?

I wouldn't thats 16k without a service. I used to change my oil every 6k

£545 not a bad price for all that lot at a main dealer.

You could do the service yourself and let them do the cambelt and MOT?

milton keynes seat quote £417 for cambelt and water pump change on my lc although they couldn't tell me if the pump would be plastic or metal impeller. Inde-tech in bletchley quoted £374 with metal impeller.

When should I be looking at changing the cambelt? Because if I'm being honest, it's a big chunk of money that I can't really afford atm

Maybe just get a service for now?
