Been looking into one of these for ages but in struggling to find one that fits. Read that some are too big, some too small.

Does anyone have one fitted and if so do you have the link where you got it from?

Thanks

From what I remember nobody managed to find one without having shite signal.

OK, what are peoples opinions on the best aerials?

I'm still rocking the stock, and am open to upgrading it.

I looked into this. I needed GPS version which you can get but it doesn't have the radio aerial built in so I'd loose the facility for Jazz FM ;-)

I gave up in the end trying so find a solution and a separate way to connect an aerial.

I've looked into fitting a shark fin but all of the reports of bad reception afterwards have put me off to date..

The standard Seat antenna would always out perform a shark fin as the golden rule of antennas is the bigger (longer) the better! (the minimum ideal length for FM reception is around 75cm) However shark fins are fitted to VW's and Skoda's and I haven't seen threads full of owners complaining of poor FM reception. The head units are common across the vag range so unless the reception gain is coded differently for Seat the performance from a genuine vag shark fin fitted to a Leon should be the same as a golf or say skoda superb... But as I said above not quite as good as the standard antenna due to its size advantage.

I should also add that as with most all modern car antennas both the standard Seat antenna and vag shark fin antenna have signal amplifiers built in to help compensate for not being the ideal length /shape.

I'm not sure what the figures are actually based on! I'm not sure my rns310 unit has the same test mode as the old CD player unless anyone can tell me different then I can post up my results for certain stations for people to compare too

I've got a 310 fitted in mine but I guess we'd need to be parked next to each other to do a like for like on a specific station..

The test value is probably an arbitrary figure with just a pass/fail value on the end of line test.. Just wanted to know if it was stated in db's or similar.. A drop or increase by 3db would be noticed by most people.

Could you just confirm the antenna you went with was plug and play with your 10 plate mk2

Thanks

Dave
