i put the fuelsave stuff in as i only use shell and found it to be no different to the old stuff they were using. Same performance and MPG on the same sort of journey i do. I got given a free shell fuelsave airfresherner though :)

Actuallally getting slightly better fuel economy since I have been using this. I didn't realise it was up to 7% biofuel but it meets UK standards and mut have been rigorously tested. I think all Dieselhas to have arounf 5%BIO now so no point in worrying. Mine is a 130 PD without any of the modern aggro attractors like particulate filters so hopefully no worries.

i have been running the texaco techron as i had vouchers for 5p off which made it the same as normal and we noticed a big difference in miles to the tank.

We normally get around 430-450miles to a tank of normal texaco/bp fuel and thats short blast on A roads and short motorway journeys back and forward to work and a few spirited runs too.
Since putting the tecron in we have been seeing near 500 to the tank and still paying £52 every time we fill up!
This is in a vw polo pd130 with a remap!

Is the Techron D available elsewhere than Wales yet (as this was the first place that Texaco released it in UK) I've not seen it in the South yet or in Cotswolds areas.
Having said that the TDI club have said re not too use too often (sorry have got the link but do a Google on 'techron Diesel' & not select 'UK' look for the TDI club entry. One of the members feels the Techron D is a bit agressive & talks of Diesel pump premature wear.
Has anyone seen any data or advertising material on this? What is Cetane Rating?

Well that's some in depth reading! Think ill stick to running bp. And texaco normal and bp ultimate and techron once a month! We do a tank a week easy so every 5th tank should be ok surely?

I've just been using two tank fulls of Shell FuelSave..................then let it run nearly dry & filled with BP Ultimate..............was immediately more responsive.............so I don't think the Cetane Rating of FuelSave is that much more if at all than standard stuff.

Also there is still no specific "benefits" to Diesels in Shells advertising for FuelSave .....everything seems to revolve around "Unleaded" ..............even the TV Advert. They can't even say re it's cleaning ability.
