It's all to do with what clothes you're wearing and the car seat cloth, it isn't the car shocking you it's you charging up with static (moving your arms and legs whilst you're driving) and discharging yourself when you get out of the car and touch an earthing point.

Those cheap nylon undies are the culprit methinks.

I think it is something to do with the car or at least the seat fabric they are using now.

I don't get shocks off my MK2 or MK3, but if i use my mums MK4 or MK5 then i do. Only thing i can see is that the material on the seats is quite different to that of the older cars.
