Roughly between 4 - 7k rpm!
Hi,

I am ready to purchase a short shift for my '05 LCR 225. I've been reading through the Search results and it seems that everyone is pleased with all the different types.

The main ones seem to be the:

1) Diesel Geek
2) Neuspeed
3) EIP

The Neuspeed seems to be the most expensive and the EIP requires the additional side to side reduction part as an extra to the throw distance piece!

Can someone give some light into the price of this Diesel Geek short shift and where it is on their website?

Cheers in advance guys.

EIP is great, you dont 'need' the side to side bit,

I love the feel, if I have another 6speed VAG car then I will be using it again for sure.

Is it not needed then much?

Do you know where i can find a diesel geek one. Just want to see the price difference!

Feel on here has had all three I believe and he rates the dieselgeek and EIP ones above the Neuspeed, may be worth asking him.

I had the EIP and had no complaints, side to side not needed.

EIP do 2 models Street and Comp IIRC, you want street because I tried Comp and it was way too much for every day driving.

I'll second Steve's comments - had one fitted on his recommendation at Westec. I had a Neuspeed on my Mk2 Golf and it was so short I often hit wrong gears and when cold it was quite nobbly. I think they're all overpriced, but what can you do?

Street EIP is the one to go for of the 2 from EIP.

Feel does has the Dieselgeek one and he's compared it to my EIP one and I think we said they were very similar.

They are pretty easy to fit, unclip a couple of things, undo a bolt, get the old one off and then the reverse to fit. The problem I had was getting the old one off but I founf putting it a gear where is raised a little helped.

EIP is wicked and took me 5 mins to install, and about 15mins to setup properly :)
Love it to bits - although can be seen/thought of as "notchy"

Find a "friendly" Chinese forging outlet... send them one in the post and ask for 1000 copies. But then that would just be illegal wouldn't it ;-)

I'm surprised noone has done it though.
