Hi all.

The Cupra-R 210bhp is the car I am going to get (finally, after much deliberation). Now the question is whether I should get a ready mapped or an unmapped car? I do intend to remap it at some stage so would it not be better to get a remapped car from the outset or would you recommend that I remap a standard car myself (to suit my needs more I guess)?

Incidentally, I drove my uncle's 2004 Audi A4 2.5Tdi (SE) and boy was that fast. It states on Parkers that that does the 0-60mph in 8.6s but it felt miles faster than my MX5. I am assuming that the 10s I quoted for the MX5 is in fact incorrect as the Audi was much much faster (although it was much quieter).

I dread to think how fast the 210bhp Leon will feel as that is quoted as 7seconds.

So back to the original post - unmapped or mapped?

Cheers - Cobraman2007

I think it depends on who did it, If done by a reputable company like some recomended on here, revo/upsolute etc it should be fine

If it's something you're going to do anyway, and the map has been done by a reputable company, then why not? Saves you having to do - and pay for - it yourself :)
