:banghead2hi iam looking into getting a custom downpipe/sportscat made for me and i am undecided on mild steel or stainless , because stainless can't dissapate the heat like mild steel but then mild steel rusts out. ideas anyone???

wouldn't that make the heat channel further away from the engine bay then ?

i read somewhere that wraping your manifold in heat wrap made it more effective because of the hot air moving faster etc and it also keeping heat out the engine bay area so go stainless and wrap it then u got best of both worlds just like the bread:D

But then you simply move all that heat further down the exhaust and end up melting your hangers. I'd go careful of that tbh - plus the wrapping doesn't tend to last all too long either

duno never used the stuff. Id go stainless anyway otherwise you would only end up buying again anyway when it rots which it will so u woukd end up payin the same if not more for what the stainless cost anyway...

stainless it is then ! what cell cat should i get 200? & is it ok to go from 3" inlet to 2.5"exit wont this cause a bottle neck???

stainless all the way with no cat gets some nice flames out the exaust when comming down the rev range

yeah could go de-cat just can't be bothered with having to swap it over for mot time & dont you need to map the pre & post sensors out??
