the where the bonnet actually bolts to the car just put spacers under there. I have some nice thick chunky spacers i can use if that correct.

Surely one or two cm wont matter?!...doesnt water get through the scuttle panel anyway?

Yeah that 1cm or 2cm really wont matter when you need a new ecu with custom map! Try saying that to people that have got wet ecus with the bonnets in standard position and not raised! Any increased chance of getting my ecu wet without protecting it wont ever happen.

Yep, i got a set of spacers off my mates Fiesta RST and just fitted them with longer bolts.

I think to let heat escape from engine bay, turbo ect...

Cooler, happier car:)
Yep allows hot air to escape.

Ive got a waterproof cover over ecu, for the rain and when i wash car etc

black bag and some duck tape. Should love the water then. lol.

Well i had the left overs from a lift shaft rebuild. Have an amazing selection of nuts, bolts, massive as f*** spacers. Should have something there.

The ecu is exposed to the elements from the factory. As said they do need to 'breathe'.

Your better off coating the multiplug with dieletric grease to prevent corrosion.

Raising the bonnet will cause a low pressure/vac spot on the trailing edge of the bonnet, sucking hot air out.

Its not the plug that causes the probem. Its water getting inside the ecu housing itself so coating the multiplug with dielectric grease wont stop that.
