Silencer hole - 2014 1.4ACT FR

Whilst taking the wheel off as i had a puncture I noticed what appears to be a hole in one if the rear silencers that is leaking exhaust gas.

It looks to be machined in rather than corrosion, any ideas if it should be like this or should be filled with some kind of plug?

Hi All Noticed a slight blow noise from my 1.4 Tsi 150 yesterday and found this. Its bizarre as the hole looks drilled it's that perfectly round.

It's a water drain.

As said above, the hole should be there to drain water
