Seem to have found myself a problem, bought a full silicon intake hose, MAF to turbo.
Removed rubber hose holding MAF, N75, DV etc, this sort of half intake hose goes to a metal pipe which bolts to the turbo which makes up the other half of the new hose.
Fitted new hose...
Problems here we come. First of all length is too long from turbo directly outwards making contact with a metal pipe on the head, touchs gear cable just about, fouls a hose on top so that it runs against it as well as a bit of metal bracket off the head.
Gave it ago and engine ran, boosted at 0.5bar and tailed off straight away due to possible bad fitment of it, possibly
Overall utter waste of money. Maybe should have bought forge pipe instead but I'm not sure if it's same...
Found a "half turbo intake" pipe by samco for the polo GTI that looks like it fits straight on to the original metal pipe from the turbo.
Has anyone come across these sort of problems?
