During my ponderings about the Altea as a possible replacement, I was wondering whether the ISOFIX child seat mountings are useable when the sliding rear seats are in any position - or only when slid right back ?

By the way that doesn't mean we're expecting :)

I would say the opposite - any isofix mountings I have seen are built into the seat. I don't have my Altea yet to compare but certainly on my current Scenic, these have isofix even though the seats are all removable.

Interesting - I'd always just assumed ISOFIX mountings were rigidly attached to the chassis on all cars. Could well be wrong though !

They are attached to the seats [B)]

So the position of sliding seats shouldn't matter then - you could fit a nipper seat in the back using ISOFIX and keep the seats slid right forward for max luggage space.
(Assuming the rear seat doesn't move so far forward it would be right up against the front seats)

Thanks

Think i need to go and check

The isofix is in at the moment

Been and checked, isofix is attached to seat,so sliding seats and isofix move together

So as you say muddyboots, max boot space available

Your not expecting but do I take it your planning and having much fun in doing so...
Well you have to plan ahead don't you....when I do change my car the next one will most likely stay with me for 4-5 years, so I need to choose one that "will suit our evolving needs" lol
