Hi all. My Cupra tfsi on 105,000 miles has a slight misfire on idle - no codes, not the hpfp or cam follower, not coils or sparks. Engine doesn't drink oil unlike my old gti so I think its in decent shape apart from this. I'm thinking an injector is clogged or the valves? Anyone know of a garage to get a carbon clean (well overdue) in the south near Reading? Cheers

You need to look for places that offer walnut blasting of the valves, you don't want someone that just offers to squirt some magic juice in the engine and tell you the carbon is gone.

I would second his recommendation, walnut blasting actually shows results. I too looked into this before and was quoted £250... I'm still yet to get it done because like you I have the misfires only on idle which I feel the slight rumbles in my seat (no codes or nothing either) and the carbon clean seems the cheaper starting point. Let us know if you go through with it and if it remedies the misfires.

Will do. Seems they are all up north though haha. Yeah same - slight shake at idle every few seconds but no codes or problems with driving. How many miles is yours at?

Mines at 68k, how are you searching for it? I typically typed walnut blasting near me and it flagged up a BMW specialist then browsing the site had the prices for the service for different cars and engines I believe.

I'm looking to have this done but only finding quotes for £500+
Where did you get your £250 quote, if I can ask? Cheers!

Mojo, did you find a place in the end? I'm London based and trying to find a walnut blasting place that isn't eye-wateringly expensive!

Cheers! I'll give them a shout
R tech do a deal to clean the injectors and carbon clean with a remap for around £650.00 you’d have to call them for a upto date price as that was in feb the price may have gone up.
