i had a problem with this and it was to do with the car holding boost during gear change but that was on a mk4 golf. That was the one way valve in the vacum pipes being broken and not alowing the recerc valve to open properly but don't think thats what causing ur problem. Either the throtle potentiomitor or as u both say the clutch pedal sensor.

I'm 99% sure its not my clutch pedal sensor. It all looks in place and seems to function fine, the only thing i guess i should do is to change the sensor.

But i'm still thinking its related to the throttle body, either a leak or alignment.

Maybe it is a faulty valve, as said above.

Looks like i'll being paying a garage to diagnose and replace what ever needs doing.

As before, let me know if you do shed any light on it!!

Can anyone shed anymore light on whats involved in looking at or checking the throttle potentiometer?

Gave the throttle body a quick clean today, by gently rubbing some WD40 in there. And the throttle response was much better and the over run was alot less frequent. And the revs seem to drop very quickly after letting off the throttle. But i also had a Blue Flame DP fitted too so maybe the cars feeling more positive because of that. Might be worth giving your throttle body a quick clean though.

I just popped off the intercooler hose and sprayed some WD40 in there and wiped it out with a soft cloth. I dont think your supposed to move the butterfly inside, but i very slowly and gently pushed on mine to open it about 2mm in order to let the WD40 get around it. I dont know the ins and outs of doing that so DO THAT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Tried cleaning it up on Saturday mate.

As you said, removed the intercooler hose, and cleaned around the inside with some WD40, i gently levered the butterfly valve open 2/3mm and cleaned loadsa dirt out the inside of the valve.

But...its made little, if any improvement.

You know your butterfly valve thing...is the bottom half the flap harder to open than the top half?
My top half was relatively easy to push open 2/3mm, but the bottom half was alot stiffer.

Thanks for your suggestion though mate.

anybody got any answer to this yet? mines doing it to, but only at certain times, no real pattern to it, but when it does come its annoying. Its not anything boost related as the gauge shoots down as soon as i let off accelrator and it dumps

?????

its got to be clutch related! Could either be the pedal or clutch its self. Try bleeding it to see if that helps.

Its either the sensor in the top of the clutch pedal not alligned properly or the throttle body needs alligning, which can only be done with vagcom

you can open bonnet and drives door with ignition on and will do it as well you’ll hear the throttle body clicking :)

right cheers guys i will have a look at some point, it hasnt done it the past 2 days but i know it will be back, just got vagcom yesturday, if it is a throttle body issue how do you re align it? or is this a searchy thingy i should be looking for if theres a guide on it or something?

mine does this as well, would love to know a resolution if available. but i do know my clutch is on its last legs and my position sensor is dangling around by my feet!!
