Got a 2.0TDI 140. Noticed the other day a bit of smoke out of exhaust after slowing up then accelerating away again. The turbo was replaced on it about 2000miles ago and everything was fine till the other day.
While the engine is running at idle I took the oil filler cap off and there is quite a bit of blueish smoke and pressure coming out and makes a fair bit of chuffing noise. Also if I pull dipstick out there is a bit of blueish smoke too. I took the breather pipe off the inlet hose and there is smoke there too but not under a great pressure like when I release the oil filler cap.
Is this possibly piston rings which is causing a lot of blow by.
The car still has plenty power and I'm not losing any oil that is noticeable anyway.
Any ideas guys please.

LMFAO! of course it will chug if you take the oil filler cap off you'll lose vacuum whilst the engine is on!.... also the smoke is just vapour....(normal)

I'm glad I made you laugh  but the smoke is more than what is normal and that is why I asked

well if it's pluming it's a lot i guess.... but there should be a normal amount of smoke it's running at hiiiigh temps!

It also smokes when the engine is cool, but more when hot.
I took it down to my local garage that I know well and he was saying it seems a bit excessive. Thing is its still got plenty power and there is no difference in power before and after it started this smoking. I will take it to a small independant VW specialist on Monday and get his opinion on it.
Cheers for your help Sniperftw.
