Went to change my speed sensor, doing okay until the old one snapped in the hub.

Plan is to drill it out gently, put a self tapper into it and pull it out that way.

Or does anyone else have a better suggestion? It's going to be a Saturday job anyway as I need to go out again now.

You can use a screwdriver the hammer into the old sensor, once it starts to shatter it should become easier to remove.

Once you get so far into it the copper coil will be exposed, you wouldn't be able to grip it using a self tapper to be honest.

You'll also have to use a circular file to clean the hole out prior to fitting the new sensor.

Cheers guys, I'll tackle it after lunch (when it may be a degree or two warmer!)
I'll take some pics as I go along and do a write up.

Well it did work with putting a screw into the sensor and pulling it out. Cleaned the hole out a bit but it's square so it was harder to clean than a round one. A bit of red rubber grease to seal it and away I went, until a mile later the error code was thrown up again. Boo-hiss
