A week into owning my first Alhambra and I feel pretty pleased with it. It is my 6th seat in total (Leon x 2, Ibiza x 2, Altea x 1 and now the Alhambra).

Just sat here wondering why other people might buy an Alhambra. My reasons and situation may seem a little strange but here goes.

Currently married with one child and one on the way. Now, you may be thinking that the Alhambra is a big car for a family of 4, but here is my reasons for buying it. After looking at several estates, passat, golf, octavia, A4, we spotted the Alhambra. Although it is a big car, we decided that having owned an Altea, that we liked the higher driving position. We knew that we could remove the rear two seats and make it similar in size to the estates we have looked at, and keep the driving position we like.

So, whats your reasons?

By the way, our Alahmbra is an '05 1.9TDi SX 130 in Platinum Grey metallic. 1 owner, 36,000 miles.

Same situation really.
When our first daughter arrived we needed a new car and settled on a Renault Scenic.
We had it for three years and it was OK but had a few little niggles so when funds allowed we decided to change. By this time we had another daughter.

Did a bit of looking around, wanted another people carrier as the wife wanted to be high up and we were after an auto as she decided that's what she wanted.

Looked at a few and couldn't really find anything we liked. We had been rather spolied by our Scenic as it was the top of the range and had pretty much every toy you could think of and many other MPV weren't quite as well specced.

I suggested an Altea and we went down to the local Seat dealership. The wife wasn't keen on the Altea as it wasn't quite high enough for her liking, but sitting in the corner of the showroom was a brand new Alhambra. We hadn't considered this as an option, weren't after 7 seats and as I drive an Avensis estate didn't really need two big cars but we sat in it and were well impressed, it had more toys than our Renault, good quality fit and finish, auto (you'll be suprised how few auto MPV's there are) and a smart looking car.
We couldn't stretch to £22000 for a new one, but found an approved used one through a seat dealer, 1 year old 15000 miles Stylance tiptronic in Platinum grey, for £15000.
The wife loves it.
Like yourselves there are only 4 of us, so the rear seats are in the loft to make room for the double buggy and various child related kit that you always seem to need. In fact we have made ours a four seater, I have taken the centre seat out of the second row, and moved the outside seats inwards, as an added safety feature, to keep my young daughters a bit further away from the doors, should I be so unfortunate that someone should bump into the side of us.

Were due a 4th child, thats our reason. I've only had Golf GTI's for the last 8years so first of all went looking for a Sharan.

We found a Sharan parked next to an Alhambra locally and prefered the Alhambra. Then we decided we wanted a black Alhambra SE for £5000 or under. We found one 47,000 mile 1.8t on an X reg, we paid the deposit but the seller withdrew, he 'aparently' found some major issues on the car (I think he sold it). We looked at a few more Alhambras/Sharans/Galaxys and eventually found a 2000 X-reg 110,000 mile Alhambra SE TDI and we pick it up tomorow.

The mileage doesn't concern me and i'm sure i'll be happy with the car, with the £1000 left over i'm thinking of buying another Mk2 Golf GTI, preferably a J-reg in black.

i bought the alhambra for the space . we have 3 children and a dog . the 2 back seats are out of the vehicle most of the time and are replaced by a large dog box . i do alot of shooting and fishing so the alhambra allows passangers , dogs and equiptment to be transported in comfort , only wish it was 4 wheel drive though:)

I have a vw bora. And after 9 years family forced me for an upgrade so I looked around and researched to the trio as the closest to the bulletproof bora.
Then looking at all 3 similar vehicles the alhambra came out the the best for me. So going up and down the country looking for a stylance model I eventually found one 54 plate 130. I really love all the extras and the high position and 3 growing kids it's brilliant for space. Had it 1 year so far and plan to keep it aswel as the almighty bora. Lol.

Family for me its main reason.father of 3 so need big. Now im 2nd owner of my 2nd alhambra. Mk1 before mk2 now..

On my second Alhambra. First one I had for nine years. This one is 2.00 diesel and has taken some getting used to as totally different to drive compared to the 1.8 20VT. I bought this one because I just like the roominess it affords me.

Bought as a business vehicle doing pet services. Business never materialized and came so close to re-selling but buyer let me down. Held on to it for a while and decided to sell our Citroen C5 instead. Best decision ever, the SEAT is so practical - 7 seats or 2 seat van/camper plus 750 mile tank range. I love it :cloud9:
(P.S. I won't recommend an early C5 to anyone :w4nk:)
