After a fair old wait the car has been purchased and made it to the yard in Japan ready to be shipped.

Here are a couple of the pictures I've been sent, I thought I'd post them for anyone that is interested.

The car is a stock 6 GSR with aftermarket wheels (I'll probably change these for the standard OZ rims) aftermarket exhaust and air filter.

That is a rude looking motor mate very jealous indeed

You got any plans for it other than filter and exhaust?,guess not much as you can't beat near perfection! Bet the rims would be big money.

A quick search for the OZ Superturismo in standard 17" is roughly £1k, I might look for some good 2nd hand ones and get them refurbed if the price is right, failing that new wheels it will be. Just a shame they are still so much even after being around for 15+ years.

No real plans as such, not planning on mapping or doing anything, just want to get it and see what's what. I'll get any basic niggly things sorted first before modifying (if any)

You wouldn't think they'd be that price still after all them years but suppose the more desirable something is it holds money well.

I was a little shocked but they really suit the car and I like the idea of keeping it standard, especially looks wise, just looks like I'll have to pay the price for that though lol

Will it not need mapping to UK fuel

Have to be honest mate that's not something I even thought about, nobody else has mentioned that so never gave it any thought.

I'll ask the question and see if it's something that will need doing, good point though

EDIT - Very quick bit of research seems to say that as long as you run 99 octane you should be fine (which is what I've always run my cars on anyway :))

I know it a a big issue with the scoobs, and detting,

As they have 102 Ron fuel, Tbh I'd be running an additive or getting it mapped, purely for safety.

I've always fancied an evo but the common faults scare the crapped out of me,

Burning through clutches, transfer boxes, yaw leaking etc.

As long as there kept on top of there fine.

I'll have a bit of a deeper look into it, good to know though mate thanks :)

It's only going to be a weekend car so it should be easy enough to keep on top of maintenance jobs, and if something does go bang then it's not desperate to fix it immediately so it gives me time to do things right, used as a daily it would worry me though lol

And bankrupt you! Lol. The VI you're getting looks nice. I've got a silver VI which I've owned for about 11 years now. Good cars. Enjoy the new toy! :)
11 years! Wow, that's not a bad stint of ownership is it. How many miles you got on yours?
