Parked in a car park today and when i got back with the little one there was a scratch all the way from the drivers door to the 3/4 panel.i have had a look online and all cctv cameras were taken out of car parks where i live about 3 years ago so no luck there.would this be classed as vandalism as i dont mess up my NCB if i claim through vandalism.

No im fairly new to the area so dont really know that many people and it was in a tiny little car park like 15 spaces well out of the way its not even a through road to anywhere the only reason someone would go down that road is to use the car park
Someone done mine in a few weeks back kicked in all doors, tail gate bonnet and 4 tyres got police involved but cant find who done it. Phoned insurance and they wanted me to pay 500 excess first and I would loose my ncb so I would find out first where you stand with it as you might be cheaper just getting it painted or other doors
Its worth considering although it doesn't affect your NCB, you will still have to declare the claim. so for as much as you still get the discount the original quote may be higher.
My insurance nearly doubled because i had to declare 2 not at fault claims. i still had my NCB but i was deemed a higher risk even though i was the innocent party.

This^ I know of a similar experience where claiming insurance was considered but it just wasn't worth it in the end.
Fault / Non-fault claim:
Fault - they are able to pin the blame and it goes through the other party's insurance,
Non-fault - although you aren't responsible it still goes on your record and will most likely increase future premiums...
Not very fair but worth weighing up

Someone keyed my back door, my insurance company said it would go through as a non fault claim, but would effect future quotes, so really unless you can pass blame, insurance is useless! By the time you pay your excess it would prob work out cheaper in the long run just to fix it yourself! Its really not right, but we are all at their mercy!
Or just throw £20 at the first scrote you see to find out who did it for you kids love to talk about how big and bad they are I'm sure you could find out somehow... Of course unless they admit fully to the police you won't get a penny but I always feel a little vigilante justice makes you feel better
