Hey I have a 2016 seat ibiza fr. Earlier today, I noticed that the front left speaker in the door panel was making a weird buzzing noise when the bass was played in any song. I used the settings to move between the speakers and found it was very low quality at that side compared to any of the other speakers.

Anyway, it got a few punches by my mate who said "it was probably static". Sounds like a bit of a 'tyre kicker' answer to me! Its fine now but wondered if anyone knew if this is a legit answer or maybe a loose cable or..?

Here's a vid of it! (Note buzzing at 40 seconds and general low quality of that speaker)
https://youtu.be/jDt8C-mGjf0

Additionally, has anyone else ever noticed that if you go on the sound settings it sometimes glitches and only lets you move the speakers between the front two, and not select from all four speakers. This obviously doesnt matter as i never change it anyway but just seems a bit odd. Only done this a couple of times that i've noticed in over a year.

Any answers welcome,

Cheers :)

I think its your setting m8 which carnt remember what it is but it priorities drivers side sound, u need to change it to all, I'm sure it's in your fade setting sorry I couldn't be more helpful

Thanks, how sure about that are you? The vid shows at about 42 secs the speaker making a horrible buzzing sound. If it was a setting then punching it wouldn't do too much but now both speakers sound the same!:)

Take off the door card on have a look at speaker and wiring cause now listening 2 all of the video sounds like the voice coil has burnt out on it that whey it pharts and crackles, if so upgraded speaker might be on the list

Are you playing the songs off bluetooth or?

Does it do the same if you play the songs off a CD (do you have this?)/ SD card?

I too have an 2016 Ibiza FR, but it's with Seat Sound system, so I can't comment whether your Head Unit has reach it's 'clipping' point on outputing the bass or not, for mine so far the sound is worth the upgrade. Suposedly it has an additional amp plus a sub. Sub I can see and hear, amp I'm not so sure... but 33% of the volume is more than enough for me.

I had a similar problem with my drivers door speaker, sometimes really low volume then splurt back into life, would make a flapping sound when the bass was on, crackled and fuzzy. Sounded horrible.

I then fitted some TR650 CXI Coaxials and they were ok, bit on an upgrade but I wanted better so I swapped to TR650 CSI amped to 50Wrms and they sounded awesome. However after a bit I decided to sell them and swap to Pioneer TS-G173ci comps and they are perfect for my liking.

If you like bass I recommend getting a sub, I like my bass and tried to get it out of a set of comps, never works so just get a sub, saves money in the long run

Make sure you dont have fade ou something similar active

Damaged both rear speakers who needed replacement by putting fade (soung higher at the rear columns in my case).

Obviously I didnt knew I had that setting, either I put by accident or it was like that when bought.
