Car in for treatment.
Front shock has let go.
3 week turn around from BC
Not convinced they are upto the job.
Only done maybe 6k on road and about 600 track miles maximum.
Had a rear fail too back in May.
Maybe had a bad batch?
BC said they have customers with years of track use with no problems.
Mmmmm. Will see if it happens again. Then look at Gaz Gold perhaps.
While in m, its getting a new radiator.
Only a tiny sign it’s weeping but better safe than have it let go on track.
That would be a disaster so
OEM going in this week.
Missing my car right now. It’s been away nearly a month.

Also have a passenger seat on order as having odd seats was doing my ocd in!!
Good timing, as they are changing the asthetics of my seat after the new year.

Been ages since I’ve done anything new.
But a new year brings new goals.
It was either sell up or Power up.
After much thought I’ve made a decision.
Forged rods and a KO4 064 tfsi conversion with Meth is where I’m headed.
See how close to 350 brake I can get.
Stop those pesky M3’s pulling away down the straits.

Side note.
Brakes are done in again!!
Godspeed 2 piece on the cards next.

Did someone win the lottery at Xmas :) Talking big money start down that route. Who you thinking of getting to do the work? I spoke with Bill at Badger 5 awhile back and we got to 8K to get over a reliable 350 bhp before I said i'd have to think about it, lol...

On the brake front, how you done that m8?

@Sparkie

I have a pair of those 2 piece Godspeed 330mm discs awaiting fitment to mine that I poached from a breaker and its unreal how much lighter they are compared to the stock discs, especially when you consider they're slightly bigger!

I heard that.
I’m hoping for a small amount of extra heat dissipation with them mainly as I always seem to cook discs and pads.
DS2500’s crumbled from over heating and warped the discs.
And now my Carbotech xp’s have started to break away from the backing and the Black Diamond discs have cracks through nearly all drill holes.
They aren’t old. Discs were new when pads went in!!
More alarming is I don’t break that hard even on track.
Been in Trev’s car and he stomps on the brakes so hard it’s like an anchor’s been deployed!
Ryan ran the Godspeeds and Carbotechs and he didn’t have any issues so hope this helps.
If I still have issues then I may have to lose fog lights and add cooling ducts.

No. Wish I had.
In fact just bought a lucky dip!!
It’s more a case of, you get bored with what you have eventually and been wanting some more power for a while.
Didn’t spend on the car last year apart from essentials like a rad and door locks.
So my options seemed. Sell up and buy something quicker that I’d want to drive!!
Exige is where that would take me but that is real money I don’t want to spend.
Or I make changes that count on this car and make it something that tickles me again.
Engines pretty good. Just hit 72K. So I’m not pumping money into an old dog.
I’m working on who I’d get to do the work but the lads at Badger5 or Ben Parsons are main contenders.
I can get a few quid for my turbo as it’s only done about 12k I think.
So that would go towards the new one.
As for brakes. Don’t know how I’ve killed another set. It’s getting silly now.

Yeah, something like this stuff does the trick. It's not the cheapest solution but it's the better way. You could use a temp gun but you can't let the brakes cool which creates its own problems

Only guessing here but do you do many miles on the road in it, maybe it's the high use of braking when cold, damaging the pads??

As I think I've said in the past, I think you can be lucky or unlucky with DS2500's, the last set I had paired to my Tarox F2000 discs were amazing, no fade at all, even at a 35 degrees air temp around Thruxton, but the current set, with the same discs, can get fade induced, so looking at DS3000's / DSUNO or Carbotech XP12 next.

No not that much.
Maybe 15 miles a week. Sometimes none.
Rare occasions I’ll do maybe 50. But that’s really rare.

So car getting more love pre MOT.
2 piece Godspeed 330mm brake discs, Pagid Black series pads!!H&R spacers, stud conversion and OZ Racing wheels to come this month.
If I can get round to it I’ll fit the passenger seat and harness this month too!! Woohooo!
Additions a little exterior detail.
I took a punt on some “Dynamic Side Repeaters”!
Mainly because they are smoked and go with the exterior look of the car.
Got to say they are pretty darn neat. Look good on or off.
Didn’t go for the pencil thin orange line as I wanted drivers to be able to see it.

@Sparkie m8, your putting me to shame, mines seen no love in over a year , just gets started and driven a few miles every few weeks to keep everything loosened up. Will be getting its yearly oil change though and a new windscreen soon as the chip is now about half a meter long!

Have been adding to my collection of bits in my garage though :)

Have you seen this write-up / guide? https://18t-tuning.co.uk/turbo-options/k04-064-advice/k04-064-fitting-guide/

Another side note, started booking trackdays (finally) so check out the trackdays forum if want to come along too.

Cheers bud
Well my car needed brakes once again so I spoilt the little Spaniard.

Yeah it’s a good write up isn’t it. Loads of info.

In need of a track day tbh. I’ll take a look.
