Sparkplugs

Wondering which sparkplugs to go for.
The obvious ones seem to be NGK BKR7EIX, however after chatting to NGK they suggested even trying out the BKR8EIX.
Anyone had any experinece with the 8's and what power are you running at?
I've got a stage 1 mapped fr at 275.

Think the BKR7EIX are the ones most people tend to go for no dealings with the 8s sorry just off topic what stage 1 map you running to get those figures on your fr other than the map is it stock im nowhere near that on stage 1?

NGK didn't really want to commit to saying go for 7's or 8's. They sort of said try the 8's and check the plugs to see if the are blackening/fouling up. If thats the case then move to the 7's.
Wanted to find out if anyone was having their sparkplugs overheating/melting at the higher bhp levels. My guess would be that you need to be on a much higher bhp/heatload to go to 8's.

Car was mapped by AMD from 210.

i've got the 7's in mind at stage 1.

Purely as 7's work best wirh modified and 8's with highly modified.

As I am stage 1 i've not upgraded to 8's

I think its the new 2.0tsi engine mate in which case he'll get 275ish whereas the 2.0 tfsi get around 240-250ish (K03 turbo anyway).

I think im using the 7's but not sure. There deffinatly a colder plug than standard bought from JKM so which ever they have on their website.

Yea RobH that would explain why, mines pre f/l fr so only 240ish stage1 ta for clearing that up thought i was missing out for a minute then.

By all means try the 7's, but I wouldn't risk the 8's.

The 8's ran OK at full chat, but around town they were dreadful and eventually the car literally choked itself burning pure fuel out of the exhaust (pipes were black):

Warren, thanks for the link, was a good read.
NGK did mention 8's might misfire and the spark plugs go black. Also said it the 8's aren't a good match you'll end up with excess carbon down to the cat which would cause issues. But that this was less damaging than having the plugs overheat/melt.
Personally don't know enough about it, hence the thread.
7's definitely the way forward, especially as my car seems to attract lots of city traffic.
