Speaker crackle

Probably a silly question but I assume that I'm getting this due to the possibility of wiring being a bit loose.

The Pug estate has speakers in the tailgate and every now and then over a bump a crackle kicks in and continues for the rest of the journey but only on jolts from the road. All very annoying. Its infrequent so I haven't taken the tailgate apart to inspect but suspect wiring may be a bit loose (tailgate closing etc).

I assume that this is the case but I would be grateful for any guidance.

is it actually crackling or just cutting in and out?crackling is normally due to a speaker wire earthing out.
cutting in and out will be a loose connection

Its just crackling over every little bump (after a big one that starts it off). The music is still 100%.

I assume that its a loose wire but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks for your confirmation.

There's no F in Quality..
Sounds like a cracked solder-joint where the cables connect to the speaker itself, or the small wire that goes from the speaker frame to the cone....

I'd grab a soldering iron and re-solder the joints where the speaker cable connects, and see if that helps ;)
