Hi,

This week i have test driven both the 5 and 3 door Ibiza's (both 1.4, one se the other sport) and have noticed the rear speakers in the 3 door are useless and distort the sound at fairly low volumes. I suspect its due to the rear doors on the 5 dar cars acting as a speaker box, rather then the rear side panels on the 3 door acting as a large speaker box.

Anyone else found this, or upgraded the speakers in a 3 door mk 5 Ibiza?

Cheers

Ian

I guess you can get the rear speakers changed. But the sound distortion sounded like the trim vibrating in time to the music, so that may not help. Best to bias the sound to just the front speakers, as that still sounded great.

You don't see in the back as a driver so dont worry about that plus the sound is very good in the new ibiza so I wouldn't worry about that !

I've been lucky enough to drive the 5dr for a while before i got my 3dr, and I thought i was the only person to notice this, The rear speakers are deffinatly different and cant even get to 16 or 17 on the volume without distorting, The 5dr could be cranked up and be fine.

I done the same thing and changed the bias to the front. Shame really

Hey, yes I am not sure if the speakers are not as good or where they are positioned mid trim is the problem. I will look at a speaker upgrade once I have the car

Ian :D

Please... Even tough, if there is a small difference, the standart speakers and the standart radio sounds like ****... Sorry guys, but the sound that comes out of it, has nothing to do with music.....

The front speakers, is cheap made, pure paper membranes and a cheap spider, change them. The tweeters, looks ok, but dosn't sound good... change them. The rear fillers is likewise.

Well... what im trying to say, is that if you really like to hear music in your car, i can't see why you should not sped a little extra, and get some quality. I havent got pictures out on my website of my companys Ibiza Mk5 yet, but they will bee soon. You can find it on lydprofilen.dk Soon.

Best Regards.

Thats a shame.... you don't know what you are missing, no offence. We share a common interest in cars, but not in HIFI, but if everyone thinks the same, it would be a borring world.

If you some day should get curious how it should sound whitout spending all your money, feel free to contact a serious car audio supplier who can advise you.

I will come with some pictures soon..

Best Regards.
