speed dependent volume

am i right in saying that the oem cd player in the LCR has speed dependent volume? if so is it possible to turn this off? it gets very annoying

Yes it does. I believe you can switch it off in Vagcom.

Yeah it doesn't work with aftermarket head units.

1. Press PTY/PROG until you hear confirmation beep and the word PROGRAM is displayed

2. Select function to adjust using TRACK +> and TRACK -< until you see "SCV xxx" in the display where SCV is the setting for auto volume

3. Press PTY/PROG again

4. Adjust it using TRACK+> and TRACK -< to the setting you want:

SCV OFF
SCV LOW
SCV MID
SCV HIGH

5. Press PTY/PROG again to store it

6. Press PTY/PROG again to exit adjustment mode.

Does the Leon headunit have a prog button - in my old mk 3 Ibiza, holding the prog button in would bring up settings for the speed dependant volume and stuff like that.

Might not be the same in the leon but I though it was worth mentioning.

in order of the program menu order BEEP, MONO, LRN, REG, IGN, ON VOL, TA VOL, SM VOL, SCV, CODE/SAFE AND BLK

I've got a whole list for the CC unit, is there something similar for the radio?

IGN - would control weather or not the radio goes off when you remove the key from the ignition,
ON VOL - is the default volume the unit will return to after being switched off and on
TA VOL - would be the volume of the traffic news
