My view is a std handling set set up on the beezer cupra'd is not good enough on public roads for its: speed, torque and steering potency.
Ive put some rear spacers on, massive difference, Rear ARB is on-route......Front arb (eibach 22mm) a possiblity, any views? lowering (trying to avoid)...anything else??

I wondered what we thought about the above dilema?
Is the Ibiza a Fierce straight line speed, easy on the corners kinda car, or is it or has it the potential to move me through corners gurning, spitting me out the other end with the biggest cheesy grin :D ever.....

strut brace makes a big difference for not too much money! Definitely reduces understeer! As soon as i get some decent tyres on it i should be goin round corners fairly quickly.. Thats all ive done to mine so far so i cant really help any more than that lol.. Will be getting sum rear spacers soon tho :D

What rubber are you using? ...perhaps upgrading to a high performance set of tyres might help the car stick to the road better?

As standard the Cupra sits on lowered/sports suspension? So you'd think (you'd HOPE!) it was up to the task.

P7000 on the front, PZN on the rear. What do ya think about lowering it a bit more i have the springs? I have a set of Eihbachs (-30mm) in my boot!

Edit: nvm...
Just noticed you have some eibach lowering springs, have you thoought about getting eibach shocks to match that should sort you out nicely.

ok, so your tyres should be up to the task.

The Cupra is lowered on 'SEAT sports springs' as standard - not sure how low that takes the car? Therefore, aftermarket lowering springs might just make it a similar ride height to how it was anyway, already lowered?

I have Eibach's Pro Street lowering springs fitted on my Bizza.
From the standard ride height (mine isnt a Cupra), it really did make a nice difference. :) Both cosmetic and handling.

To really make a difference perhaps an adjustable coilover kit would be the ultimate way to more precise handling?

I don't really find the speed/handling thing an issue, I come up to a corner get the speed and gear correct before I get to the corner and then drive through the corner :D

Now maybe I'm not pushing the car as hard as you are, but on the other side of the coin I'm driving on public roads and have no wish to have an accident.

lowering, playing with suspension, changing tyres etc can all help, but then so can making small changes to the way you drive ;)

Good luck with finding the right combination of all of the above for yourself.

Mine does both now :D

Good tyres and suspension setup and then knowing the limits of your car are ideal...

I'd change the tires if I were you, the pirellies are ok for normal driving, but if you are an enthusiastic driver then you can extract so much more performance from the standard suspension with a decent set of rubber! I have had a set of toyo t1s's and am now on a set of toyo proxes 4's (which are awesome) both offered a massive improvement in grip over the std pzn's imo! :D

Springs doesn't give you better handling,it's the shocks that do ;)
A good coilover set, strutbar and stiffer ARB front and rear with good tires (I prefere Bridgestone Potenza RE050A) will alreadu make u huge difference.
Not enough...get a diff then.

Id always recommend a strut brace, but more so a brake upgrade. Especially on the diesel.

From the start of the thread where he says cupra'd I presume its a cupra, so his brakes are already sorted! I think he's lookin to go round corners faster, so increasing brake power isnt gonna help him do that anyway, just help him arrive at the corner with more speed and slow down faster!

I have an adjustable forge front strutbrace on mine which seems to have helped a little with turn in and reduce understeer a little! Dont know what effect putting a front arb will have, any1 else fitted one on a cupra???? Think eibach do a 23mm 1! Std one is 20mm iirc! I know the rear one is supposed to help massively! Still think you will get a massive improvement in handling and confidence just by fitting better tires, but its up to you mate! Have fun sorting it out! :D

nice 1 lads..........ill let you know how i get on.
Rear ARB should be with me in a couple of weeks.
Tyers will have to wait til iv worn the Pirelli s down..........shoudnt take long!!!
