I noticed on testdrive of leon that the speedo is difficult to see below 40mph

Is this just because i didnt take time to adjust the car properly (seat height, steering height etc) or is it a genuine problem???

Cheers

i meant that from the way the test car was adjusted, seeing below 40mph was difficult, ie rather than being able to glance i had to physically move my head and look

Maybe a personal thing, obviously the steering wheel goes up and down and forward back, you should be able to adjust to suit. I don't think its ever been mentioned on here before! :)

i never thought to adust it on the test drive just presumed it was due to the adjustment of the car!

I will find out on friday when i pick up my leon!

I found it difficult to see speedo below 40mph on test drive (honest officer!)......

I am a short arse and had to adjust positioning when I got mine delivered - thankfully when seat & wheel was in desired position I could see everything fine.

Just as i had suspected cheers!

Was a bit worried as i could picture the scene:

Officier: whats your excuse for driving at 45 in 30 sir?

Me: I couldnt see the speedo!

Officer: Right ok, heres 3 points and a 60 quid fine for your troubles!

I didn't have this exact problem, but when i first picked up my Leon i found that with a quick glance of the speedo pre 40mph i couldn't figure out what the speed was...!? I had to concentrate on it hard before my brain registered the speed i.e. at quick glance it was hard to see what speed i was doing as opposed to if you glanced and saw a digital number you would know straight away...

I'm not doing a good job here am i, i'll stop smoking it...

that was my view with the seat set how I wanted it and the steering column the same

I am 6" 4 and used to have the wheel right up to give me the most knee room. I could not see the bottom area of the speedo like you describe.

Never normally a problem as only tend to be below 40mph for around 7 seconds on the way to 100:)

Seriously though its just a matter of finding what is comfortable. Now that I have had mine for a while I've managed to drop the wheel a bit and now all the speedo is visable.
