Split pipes and PCV system

If I am getting a vac/boost leak from my PCV system can I not just cap off the feed to it under the inlet manifold?

Im waiting to fit an oil catch can so I will be doing away with it all anyway but just wondered if I could cap it off now or if it would cause problems? It's all broken any split at the moment anyway so obviously can't be working lol

Have had a quick look around the engine bay today and this pipe here is split....

Which is the long pipe coming from part number 1 on this diagram under the inlet manifold

AND also my lower breather is split too see pics here, the part that connects to the top breather

Checked vac lines and can't seem to find what is causing it...

I got a line going from under the inlet going to an X piece with one going to FPR, DV and Boost Gauge

If I pinch the line going to DV the vac goes up to around 20-25ish

DV line isn't split or anything all seems fine... Where else could it be coming from?

Might sort out what I need for the EVAP/SAI etc and try to remove the lot this weekend

You're driving in lean mode intermittent, I also had the split pipe issue. In the end I replaced every pipe from the PCV system, also replaced the PCV valve as well to be thorough.

[edit]
When you fit a catchcan, you need to interrupt the line to the hockey puck, leave the other hose in place. So:

PCV system > catch can in > catch can out > hockey puck

Yeah think thats what I got wrote down somewhere not to sure tho....

Or was it that it come straight from the 90o elbow ontop of the oil filter housing > catch can in > catch can out > hocket puck?

Yeah sorry forgot to add that in lol a t piece between the oil housing and catch can in going to rocker

So, oil housing > t piece to rocker > catch can in > catch can out > hockey puck, right?

If you cap off the crankcase vent hose your crankcase will pressurise. You don't want to do that.

If you leave the PCV system open, you have a post-MAF air leak, and your fuelling will be wrong (too lean).

I haven't capped it off all I done was remove the ppe under the inlet and cap the inlet so it doesn't have a leak

As for the pipe from the pcv system it's all left as it was just disconnected from under the inlet.. Which was all split so wasn't doing anything anyway lol

And I was going to remove the PCV according to the evap/SAI/pcv removal guide

Here's mine at the moment.

The turquoise pipes lead in/out of the catch can you can't see.
The 90 degree elbow pipe under the dipstick area is loose and I don't have easy access to secure it.
