just curious on this one.
currently running a 007 forge valve through a green panel filter. there is no noise whatso ever from the valve.

just curious as to what sound level is achieved from the new forge. I noticed a few peeps on here have them now and that is all they are running.

as a comparisome, i ran a 007 through a carbonio on a non remapped leon cupra, and tbh the noise from the valve was to loud. i am looking for something in between.

just wanted to find peeps opinions before i fork out for one.:D

I fitted a Forge 007P to my 20VT recently, and have a BMC panel filter, and I've noticed a very slight "pish" sound from the new valve but primerily only when the engine is cold, not when it's warmed up...

i have the split r and its not too loud but loud enough to notice down quiet roads its worth it! So carbonio makes it louder than dynatwist looks like i may be interested in the carbonio then would love a little more noise personally.[B)]

but with all this wet weather i dont know if i should get the carbonio????
Will it suck up water from puddles in the road?????????

dont worry about the carbonio sucking up water. i went through some deep puddles with one and there was no problem.
I personally couldnt believe what a differance the carbonio made to mine. it gave a very distinctive whoosh that made people turn and look when i was driving down the street.
had to sell it as i changed to an lcr and unfortunately it doesnt fit. Decided i want a more subtle whoosh now. Noticable, but subtle.

sounds like the split r will be they way to go.

Personally I would always recommend people avoid the split r for reasons mentioned a million times before.

hi cupra brown, im running the spliter and you get a good sound from it, and the best bit is its not chavy loud, and its never caused a problem with the car. im more that happy with it but im sure some people will disagree with me.

I have had the split r on mine for two weeks and will be replacing it with a 007p as the car has not run right since fitting it.

i will vouch for the split r not causing any problems with ecs.
As it does not performe like other bov's as it is not a "BOV"

Im sure forge have invested alot of money to research the development of it.

You may prob notice alot of threads on here from me discussing the number of turns to set the split r too as it does take quite a bit of setting up.

But this weekend i resorted to converting the split r to full recirc in order to blow this problem well an truely out of the water and set it up correctly. Have now done this and it all works a treat now

The split R will not cause any running issues

I would 100% agree with this statement i have had no issues at all, no faults no power loss all perfect. Just need to make sure the top is turned to the correct setting dependant on boost pressure i think. mine is a standard cupra and i have turned it 19-20 clicks clockwise from starting position. This is perfect as at full throttle it holds boost all the way to redline and a lovely whoosh sound at gear changes which is best heard changing at 3000 revs for me. [B)]

So please lets not even go there with negative comments about this product![:@]:headhurt::help::)

I have to agree people are reading other peoples comments and more accurately quieries and very quickly given up and blaming the product rather than their knowledge or paitence.
This valve is a very good product once set up correctly.

i agree with punch IT, i've had mine for 5/6mouths and not one problem, only thing i will say is it does take ages to set it up right. so thats probably why some people dont rate it:shrug:

Sorry, venting any amount of boost to the atmosphere is not good for the engine regardless of if it's throwing up the management light or not. You're effectively creating a boost leak.

Just my opinion and I wouldn't recommend anyone used one.

just out of curiosity are you a mechanic/ engineer?

So basically you are saying that forge have lied about a product that im pretty sure they will have done countless amounts of research and development in to.

I understand what your saying but it only vents a small amount thereofore not enough to cause any amount of a problem

Its still not recirc 100% of the air,
as said it may not give any fault codes of lights but hey, you pay your money you have a choice,

Forge say "This means you get all the noise of the blow off valve whilst retaining the compatibility with the recirculation requirements of the engine management system"

Which understood to be - This DV puts enough air back in to shut the ECU up.

I like 99% of forge goodies, just not this, but then again, i don't want that TISH!

Its individual choice at the end of the day!
