Im sure a couple of you know that I have Smoked Rear lexus Lights, yes yes yes, i can hear you all saying , noooooooo. But the fact that is that i spent £150 on them, so im not going to waste them.

So the idea is to smoke them more so they dont visibly stand out as much. My question is, and this probably is similar to the standard light clusters as well, is that can you take off the front lenses without damaging them, so that they can be sprayed. To me, they look like they are glued on,

Any help is appreciated.

I opened up my old focus lights to spray them, i used a hairdryer and went around the edges, heated up the glue and then when soft enough I would prise the light apart using a screwdriver. I suspect its the same with most lights that are glued

Mitchy, are you saying that if i post my complete set of lexus lights he will tint them for me, all for £25.00 plus a £5 er for P&P

I'll find out today/tonight for sure but yes it will be £25 + £5 postage if you send him your lights! You'll obviously need a 2nd set of lights for your car while they are being done!

Im sure they are sprayed from the inside but its hard to tell! I'll find out more info for you!

Well ive decided to give it a go myself , and this is the result.

It goes on pretty well, so im going to have a go at the lexus lights.

No beleive it or not, i just put masking tape on outside with newspaper, and sprayed over them, allowed them to dry and then sprayed another coat. You can keep spraying depending on how dark you want em.

After drying, i just tidied up the edges with white spirits.

I did a test on a glass 1st, and after it dried tested to see how much came off when washed, and i was surprised to see nothing come off.

This is the spray that i used:

Ah sahme as i was hoping to spray the silver backing darker and have the clear lense to give a 3D effect and then i could put some funky bulbs in too!
