Springs vs Coilovers

Good afternoon homies',

A quick question for you on this typical English day. Does anybody have any pictures of the optional lowering springs (I think they're 20-25mm Eibachs) vs. some coilovers? Before & After pics.

I'm still undecided, I think coillies are too low and will ruin the ride quality, but if springs don't make much difference there's no point with that either!

Any help much appreciated!

I'm holding out for 'good' springs and dampers

H&R, or Eibach or Koni - It's not all about being low, I want to improve the ride significantly

If you're referring to to the first picture on that facebook link it's on coilovers. Despite being on 18's as well I feel the ride quality is vastly better than the original setup :)

Ah meant the third one (red Ibiza).

But that Boc is on 18"s AND on coilovers? What's the drop on them?? Would have thought that 18's would be near scrubbing anything over 20mm...

Can't be sure on the drop I'm afraid as it was set up before I purchased the car. Never had problems with rubbing so far and I live in a pothole/ speed bump hell lol

I currently have 16" wrapped in 45, thinking 17" wrapped 40 and enough of a drop to bring the cars backend down! Don't want to go too crazy though as anything I put on I have to take off when sell time comes.

Coilovers sound the way but with the price, and concern over the strain it's going to put on other components, and also worried about ruining the ride quality (Birmingham pride themselves with Pot holes), I'm stuck! I don't need anything lower than a smack heads morals but something tidy and still comfortable to drive.

Cheers

I'd say go with coilovers at least that way they're adjustable to get the height you're after. I wouldn't worry about the ride quality, after all i live in Brum as well and have no problems other than the usual pot hole related issues

Im not sure you understand what coilovers can do. Coilovers will go as low or as high as you want them. If you want better suspension but with zero ride height difference you could do this with coilovers as they are all height adjustable, from stock down to really low.

Im with Mork, ill be after a set of springs/dampers as these are normally not so harsh, but still a huge improvment

Leaning towards these;

Does anybody here have any experience with them?

I have just put these on mine at the weekend, ride is a bit harsh but I feel the ride height looks good. I got mine for under £100 from Camskill.

Here is a pic

Also here is a comparison of the rear arch
