hello all,my car failed its mot last week for my coilovers. im needing my car back on the road asap. was wondering what sort of drop i would get from them?

are you talking about putting lowered springs on original shocks?

It would depend what springs you get, usually they already come rated to a specific drop.

I might get springs and shocks as cant really afford coilovers at mo, looking to drop about 30mm, any recommendations?
Shouldnt just get springs tho mate, get better shocks too.

as i said iv got koni coilovers. have to lose them tho for the mot. i was wanting more of a drop than 30mm. what make should i go for? that whats the prices?

eibach pro dampeners with either pro kit (30mm) or sportline (50mm) springs would do you well assuming they are available in the correct fitment

otherwise bilstein do a kit and they are very high quality aswell

or are you planning to fit springs to standard dampeners?

are they leaking?? seals gone??

Have a look at websites such as koni, spax, bilstein, gmax etc.etc. You need to firstly take a look at their application lists to find out wether they actually make them for the ibiza, im sure they will.....

Then you need to find out what the drop would be and contact an authorised dealer to purchase them... somewhere like this would be a good place to start.

just to advise the same as other people said - do not get just springs, thats what ive got, and its bouncy as f*ck. Big boys toys are doing fk highsports for £399.99 its a good deal

I don't think you did mention Koni coilovers :p But anyway, why on earth did they fail you for your coilovers? I take it they are damaged/leaky etc, or just not fitted properly? Why not get them repaired, seems a bit long winded and pointless to ditch them in favour of just springs. As said above, springs alone is not really the way forward. (especially if your already sat on coilies)

I'd find out whats up with them. Maybe an easy fix. Jamex are 'ok' as long as they are fitted well and you actually get sent the right kit. (i know somone who recently got sent the wrong kit, and was refused a swap/refund as he fitted it before checking part numbers)

I'd get onto the MOT place and ask them why it failed!
It may be a case of too low, so only requires it to be raised a little, and all this post, and effort into looking why they need to be replaced is wasted.

No way would i have left with, "Its failed, Goodbye!"

Just getting springs, will mean you also need shocks, so full kit is your only way forward.

1st things though, find out why its failed!

Exactly, you also have the added expense of tracking/camber setting after fitment of new setup.

Ryan i'd go Wietec coilovers personally. i've been in Ibiza's with H&R, KW & FK coilovers and none are as good as the Wietec and all of the others were pretty bouncy. Ask brad, mine are not far off standard for ride quality.

I got a set of standard suspension sitting in the garage you can have for the MOT. I was going to chuck them but you can have them if you like.
