Hey guys, getting my Leon ST in the next couple of weeks and need to get a dog box ordered for it. But just wondering if anyone would be able to measure up there boot for me please? Or know if there are any measurements online?

Ideally width, height depth and pitch of the back seats if possible.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Measured mine the other day:

The Leon ST boot is 1000mm long at the longest point, 1000 between the wheel arches, 535/430 high to the tonneau cover depending on floor position.

Thanks guys.

I will probably be having it on the lower position. Sorry to be a pain but what's the measurement of height to the roof? And also the depth at the shortest point?

Just as the dog box has a slope to allow for the slope on the boot and the back seats but need to make sure there's going to be enough room for it.

Not the answer you were looking for, as I do not have measurements, but I have looked at the Leon ST for my partner for the Dog car, and with the floor down you will have to bare in mind the lip on the boot for the positioning and opening of the gate as you don't want it to be to low as the door of the cage will just hit the boot lip and not really be enough space to open and get the dog out, Have you looked into Barjo dog guards that sit in line with the Tailgate?

Bloody good thinking Joe! Hadn't thought about that!

I have looked at them, but I want a secure crate that sits in half of the boot space, firstly so it keeps the dog safe in the event of a crash and secondly so I don't get dog hair all over the boot lining!

Dog comes with me to work every day and is partial to a muddy puddle!

Yeah, we had a Barjo in her old Fiesta was brilliant, but we do Dog shows and have all the showing equiptment and Trolly so need a car we can put trolly in and have crate in too, much harder that we thought, may have to look at a Van next for her lol

Other option is get a cage with a sloping front and back, therefore the door will swing out and up, allowing you to get the dog in and out, but depending on shape angles and size its going to be a close shave

Apologies if I'm being a bit thick but surely the manufacturers of any dog box should have the measurements of any vehicle they supply a box for?

Not all will, Especially if your getting stocking one that is generic size not a custom made one. you will need to know measurements before buying cage

Ah. I'll just have to use duct tape on the wife then..... ;)

Just as the dog box has a slope to allow for the slope on the boot and the back seats but need to make sure there's going to be enough room for it.

The height of the roof is 755mm and tapers to 735mm near the edges

The depth on the floor near the sides is 960mm and 1000mm in the centre

The distance from the top back edge of the back seats to the hatch, so the shortest depth is 500mm, and this is at a height of 550mm, any higher than this and the depth tapers sharply off. This is with the parcel shelf removed.
All the above taken with the floor in the bottom position.

There is slightly less width near the back seats at the floor level due to the plastic guides for the raised floor position.

Concernedcat this would be truly the saddest and most pathetic troll of all time if it were...

Thanks for that bogwopit that's ideal!

Yeah I was look at getting a custom made one, but I spotted one with an ideal size at the weekend at a game fair that should fit nicely without having to pay the extra few hundred for a custom. They have measurements for a lot of cars but not found a company yet that has for a Leon ST.

Cheers Blakeney, I've seen these and currently have one in my focus but doesn't stop hairs getting all over the sides and back of the seats unfortunately. I've also seen fabric covers you can get that go over the boot floor and the sides too, but they don't look very smart.

Damn, I'm fairly sure the standard size box I was looking at isn't going to fit. The base measurements are 900mm Deep x 500mm wide x 670mm high. This then tapers to a depth of 550mm at the top. As per your measurements Blakeney, I'm guessing the taper on the boot won't accomodate that at a height of 670mm?

I have a dog crate in my boot, it is 750mm deep x 500mm wide x 550 high, and that fits with about an inch to spare between it and the tailgate, with the boot in its lowest setting.

Ahh right, looks like a 900mm deep crate wouldn't stand a chance then, is that with a sloping back? Where did you pick yours up from yellowcone?
